We also offer a health guarantee and provide ongoing support to our puppy owners.

What a journey it's been developing these dogs. We have been incredibly blessed with the knowledge and leadership that some of the best of the best in the shorthair world have shared with us! The last 8 years in our small kennel has taught us more than we could have ever imagined.
Being able to do this with our son Nick, his wife Hanna and their family just brought things to a whole new level!
Our kennel is located right in the middle of Iowa where the dogs get to hunt in all types of weather, from the snow and wind to a gentle touch of 40 degrees (all within 24 hours of each other in Iowa). Our dogs can hunt in it all.
Dave's favorite part of a day is loading up and spending the days in our Iowa fields during hunting season or training days. Maggie's favorite, without question, is whelping these beautiful puppies for our future buyers. Maggie received her love and passion for dogs from her Father, they bred dogs growing up so it's in her genes!
We are truly blessed that you took the time to come to us for your next family member and hunting buddy. We will never be the biggest kennel around, but our absolute, without question, goal is to be the best.

Nick & Hanna Wassenaar
Founders of Auggie's Golden Point Training:
Nick's love for dogs started for him from as long as he can remember, they've always had dogs growing up. Nick first found his passion for bird hunting with his late step-father, Jim. Nick and Jim would spend their time in the field with their English-Pointers. Nick's first dog of his own was an English Golden retriever named Mia, they would hunt on any field they could get their hands on. Nick invited Dave out with him and that's when they both fell in love with hunting upland birds together. Nick & Hanna decided on pulling the trigger on buying a shorthair and that's where Auggie came along. Auggie was an outstanding GSP, he had so much natural ability and was an amazing competitor in Field Trials. Together, Nick became handler of the year back in 2016. Shortly after that, Auggie passed away unexpectedly and that's what triggered us to start this whole adventure and name our program after our two dogs that lit this fire within us. Our ultimate goal was to breed top notch shorthairs, have an outstanding training program, and be able to board dogs. Once we moved back to Ogden, we figured there was no sense in both Maggie & Dave, along with us both breeding. That is when we decided to merge everything together and be the best of the best all as one, it was the best decision we've made for our program! We love God, our family, and dogs...in that order. You will see that in our training program and kennel will show that. Each dog gets poured with love from our family, and by us doing that, that we get outstanding dogs out of it. We only hope that you trust us with your bestfriend and give us the privilege into turning them into the best hunting companion for you.
